We contacted Joe for some lime mortar pointing work in the summer, on our listed c.1862 house. Joe was the first person to come around for a quote, on a bank holiday at that! The quote we received for the work was very fair and Joe and his team completed the pointing in good time. The work was excellent quality and they obviously take great pride in doing a professional job. We live north of the border so each day was a long one for the lads. They never complained though, and were a pleasure to have around. While working on the chimneys, Joe noticed some quite severe issues that have arisen from historical subsidence. Many tradesmen would probably have just done the pointing and we’d have been none the wiser. A structural engineer was arranged by Banks and the go ahead was given for them to completely rebuild the chimneys. In very trying conditions and bad weather, the chimneys were also fitted with new flue liners and insulated. We now have peace of mind that not only do they look fantastic, but also they are structurally sound. Joe also refinished our sandstone pillar entrance, which had been damaged by a company we used to sandblast the facade previously. All said and done, we won’t hesitate to use Banks Stonemasons again for some other work we have planned in the near future. Dave and Carrie, Park House Moffat

From discussing the work, explaining the quote, organising all of the materials and equipment Joe has done a first class job. The house now looks significantly better and has a proper lime render and a balanced chimney stack. Did a great job in our house. Took down part of a wall to open up my hall and backroom to make it open plan, they secured the retaining wall. Turned up when they said they would, did a great job and best of all cleaned up after they were done. Would definitely recommend.
